Burlesque
So not only did TimeOut New York pick my premiere show with Dances of Vice at Le Poisson Rouge as one of their top 5 best events for the week of September 29–October 5, 2011 featuring a picture of me for the event; they also sent a photographer to cover it and took some great shots of my acts! Here’s the picture by Steve Prue they used for first article:
I was thrilled to be in this Dances of Vice show, not only because they put on some of the most innovative and stylish shows around the city, but also because the theme was based on one of my favourite tv shows, David Lynch’s masterpiece Twin Peaks. It was quite a night, as I was juggling two shows, this one and a new burlesque night in the upstairs VIP lounge at Webster Hall, a show called Hanky Panky put on by one of my fave burlesque gals in town, Hazel Honeysuckle. Here are two of my favourite pics from the show that night at Le Poisson Rouge:
I had the night off from burlesque tonight after 7 shows in 5 days, phew! Tomorrow night I’m back at it with a show at a new all-burlesque venue in Brooklyn, Red Hook’s Paris Cabaret. You can find out more about this and other shows by visiting my website Bettina.ca where I keep my regularly updated show schedule.
